About Me

There was a time when cooking made me anxious and I hated everything about the kitchen.  Living with my parents, I never got very involved in preparing meals aside from occasionally chopping some vegetables or setting the table.  When I moved out on my own, the idea of preparing edible meals was very daunting.  In the beginning I grilled chicken and had one salmon recipe that I sometimes executed without charring it beyond recognition.  The question "what's for dinner?" made me want to vomit.

Then I read the book, The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin.  This book helped me to rethink my time spent in the kitchen.  Cooking was not something I was going to be able to eliminate, so I had to find some joy in the experience.  This blog has helped me to do just that.  It has given me an outlet to share my experiences with others and has motivated me to try new things.  I have learned so much in a short period of time.  I'm excited to continue to build on the bits and pieces I have picked up and also to continue to share my adventures in the kitchen.
